This week’s Manchester blog of the week

I’m kicking off this weekly look at a blog, or website, about Manchester with a return to an old favourite, www.manchester-blog.com.
Run as a self-confessed “labour of love” by blogger Jim Symcox, it has built up over the year or so since it started to become a veritable compendium of city bits and blobs.
It’s hard to define it too closely – there’s everything from news, reviews, some interviews and pictures around the city. The number of categories the blog extends to is somewhat staggering – everything from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows to Factory Records although the entry for UFO was a bit of a disappointing tease.
In fact the very first entry was (completely unintentionally) on one of the early topics ever blogged about on The Mancunian Way – the continuing appearances of the Sabi Rock man – as much a topic for debate now as it was then.
Thanks to www.manchester-blog.com I’ve only just discovered there’s also a Flickr group for sightings of the mysterious muso.
And it’s that sort of chance discovery and hidden delight which made my pick out www.manchester-blog.com as well as the fact the strapline; Manchester car parking on the M60 can you explain it? has always made me smile.
Myself and Paul will be hunting around for blogs or websites to feature here, add to our blogroll and include in the e-view page of the M.E.N on Saturday so, if you’ve got one to nominate, send an email or submit the details below. The only criteria is that they have some connection with Manchester.
