* First up it’s the launch of Social Media Cafe tomorrow night at The Northern. There’s been an amazing response to this event and anyone wanting to attend will need to sign up and register at the dedicated Google group – and quick!
As well as a chance to share ideas and meet other digital cyber explorers there will also be a panel debate to get things started: “Is blogging dead?”
* In a couple of week’s time, top bloggers Kate Feld (Manchizzle) and Chris Horkan (Mancubist ) are running some blogging workshops.
There’s two sessions coming up:
Saturday 22 November, 10-12am Gorton Library
Saturday 29 November 10-12am Crumpsall Library
All the sessions are free – but they say that space is limited and the previous workshops have been packed out, so get in there early . To book, call the Manchester Literature Festival office on 0161 236 5555 or email admin@manchesterliteraturefestival.co.uk. Further details on each of their blogs.
* Finally, the Don’t Panic Guide to Social Media coming to Bridgewater Hall on Friday, December 5 looks like a date not to be missed. This day long conference boasts some top speakers including the Guardian’s head of communities and user experience Meg Pickard, head of press and public relations at West Midlands Police Mark Payne and PR blogger Stephen davies.
