Speaker, wiki, Twitter? #smc_mcr knows no bounds

It only seems like yesterday that the first Social Media Café for Manchester was held – but planning is already well underway for the second meeting which will be Monday, December 8.
The topic for discussion will be a change of tack from the blogging panel of the first event with the speaker for the night being Heather Corcoran .
She’s a curator/producer with a specialist in media art and music, who currently works as Curator at FACT (Foundation for Art and Creative Technology) in Liverpool.
The group is also getting slicker at communicating to members with a dedicated wiki where people can pitch in with ideas and confirm attendance as well as post their interests on the WLTM (Would Like To Meet) board.
There’s also a dedicated Twitter stream in readiness for more updates at and the accepted hashtag of smc_mcr is already in established use.
I’ll update this blog with any further news and look forward to seeing you at meeting number two, back at The Northern, 6pm on Monday, December 8.

Here’s a film taking in some of the topics from the first meeting of the Social Media Cafe.
