This flowchart could be a useful tool to adapt when designing workflows for newspaper staff carrying out online community work.
An excellent diagram, it first turned up in my alerts from the Association of Community Professionals yesterday.
Posted via the web strategist and blog supremo Jeremiah Owyang, although created for use by the US Air Force, it could just as easily be applied to business or personal blogging activity and newspaper community work.
One of those responding to this on the e-mint forum also made a very valid addition: “The obvious gap is “who should respond”. That might well be covered in another chart, but:-
“Should I respond? – You should only respond where you have domain expertise AND and appropriate command level. If you don’t have the expertise but feel a response is required, draft a reply but ensure that someone with the right expertise agrees it before posting. If it’s an important /major issue above your command level, kick it upstairs”
