Is it just me or does the Big Chip Awards opening for entries get earlier each year? For those who don’t know, the Big Chip Awards is the key showcase for the digital industry in the North West. Now in its 12th year, it provides an annual showcase for the very best in digital and new media in Manchester and beyond.
This year’s Big Chip again takes place at the Palace Hotel in Manchester on 10th June. Last year it was a great night – where we not only had Terry Christian’s impeccably droll compering, but an impromptu live set from comedian Bill Bailey who was appearing next door at the Palace Theatre.
Every year the Big Chip Awards, organised by Manchester Digital, aims to encourage new entrants from the many great companies in the region, and there’s a chance to find out more on “how to enter” (and how to improve your chances of getting shortlisted!) at Rain Bar this coming Thursday – just register to attend, and you can book food if you want. With a closing date of 1st March for entries, there’s not a lot of time to get your entries in, so Thursday’s a golden opportunity to find out more, as well as to network with colleagues from the sector.
I was particularly pleased to see that this year’s awards also includes a new category aimed at the student community, “the Little Chip Student Award”, open to institutions across the whole of the North of England.
