After a little more than two years of calling HyperlocalBlogger.com home, the sun has set and I’ll be shutting the blog down.
The reasons are simple, and some are probably obvious:

In 2008, Endemol co-founder Joop van den Ende invested in Hyves to take what was reported to be between 20 and 30 percent of the company, which has expanded to offer payments and games.

In its announcement today the company emphasized that it offers a customizable lightweight widget, which it says will be most appropriate for most people. The new API is suitable for "partners with heavy-duty needs and who can devote a goodly amount of development time to work with the data."
