With Christmas coming, I’m someone who is always tempted by the free catalogues that drop out of the Sunday papers. But is there a blog equivalent? In the creative centre that is Lancashire’s last stand, Todmorden, H is for Home’s blog is a really good example of how the format can be used by someone with a real enthusiasm for design. I love the way that most blog posts are themed around a letter – so that P is for Poole pottery and S is for Salt and Pepper. At last night’s social media cafe one question that kept coming up was about company’s blogging. It’s interesting that it small local companies that have embraced the technology – and the opportunity – far more than many of the larger corporates. H is for Home is a great example – and as a blog about style and design – its pretty stylish itself – with a wealth of widgets used intelligently. If the Christmas markets don’t give you any ideas for Aunty Dora’s Christmas present then maybe this might.
We will be hunting around for blogs or websites to feature here, add to our blogroll and include in the e-view page of the M.E.N on Saturday so, if you’ve got one to nominate, contact us here or submit a link below. The only criteria is that they have some connection with Manchester.
Hey Adrian,
Thanks for the great plug! I think quite a few people would have something to say about you thinking Tod is in Lancashire!
Despite having an Oldham postcode, Rochdale telephone number, Granada TV and yes, Lancashire postal address – we’re well within the borders of Calderdale and West Yorkshire…
Sorry I didn’t get along to the Social Media Cafe last night – I was far too busy standing on a freezing cold platform at Victoria Station waiting for a train that never came!
