A few sore heads aside, Manchester’s first Social Media Cafe event last night was well supported and has sparked good responses all round – so what now?
There will be more events that’s for sure, and the debates around suitable subjects, venues, speakers are already underway. One thing’s for sure, blogging won’t be the main topic – not because it’s dead (last night’s event certainly proved that) but because we need to make sure there’s something fresh at every event and that we truly explore all the aspects of social media to make it meaningful for all concerned.
So, it’s now over to the members to get stuck in and shape next month’s meeting and there’s various ways of getting involved;
Keep up with ongoing conversations across Twitter (plus pictures from Flickr) using the hastag #smc_mcr (eavesdrop via the pipe below or get this as a badge for your blog here).
There is now a wiki and postings about the next event can also be found at the Google group.
I shall also round up on as many blog posts as I can later in the day, so please send me your links in the comments field below.

I am glad it was such a success I wish we had those kind of events in our area, I saw recently that Harrogate had also arranged something similar it would be nice to meet up and put faces to peoples names.
