A Manchester blogger has this morning shown that crime reports aren’t just a matter for the police – he’s raised awareness of thefts in his locality by blogging about it.
Jim Simcox awoke this morning to find thieves had stolen, of all things, part of his driveway fence.
In a posting entitled What will Manchester thieves steal next? he details the disregard for others’ property which he says is becoming all too commonplace.
“The thing that gets to me about this is that whoever did it obviously thinks that whatever someone else has can be used as if it was theirs to do with what they like. And yet, of course, if someone was to do the same to them they would be angry and incensed that someone had stolen from them.
“And with this sort of casual unconcern for others’ property is it any wonder that people we know who live here are considering moving away?”
Fortunately, although being annoying, the theft hasn’t got Jim down as he grudgingly conceeds: “at least we were spared the annoyance of having to buy 10 panels, rather than 3.”
that’s nothing, how would you feel if a neighbour drilled into your fence posts, put metal brackets up and heavy baskets on them, you told them to take them off, you took them off after giving proper notice that you did not want these things attaching to your property, take them off, they call police, and they tell them that it’s their fencing, even though you can produce your reciept for it all, and you get into trouble for touching his brackets and baskets!!
