Blog of the week: Manchizzle

This week’s pick of the posts is an old favourite and, being one of the first proper blogs to set up in the city, it’s about time we gave it the attention it deserves.
Started way back in 2005 by self-confessed Yancunian (an American who has settled in Manchester) Kate Feld, the Manchizzle blog has evolved to be a comprehensive directory of the city’s bloggers.
Blogs are arranged in an easy to follow blog roll under headings such as City and neighbourhood, political and photoblogs plus there’s a large selection of literature and arts based writers.
Manchizzle is also the focal point for bloggers meet-ups in the city as well as providing information about workshops and other events of interest to those of who blog and the organiser of the city’s annual awards.
Kate explained what drives her many and varied postings: “I love blogging and am an enthusiastic proponent of
its self-powered publishing powers. I’ve met wonderful people through my blog and and writing about all the great stuff happening in Manchester (on and offline) makes me enjoy it more, somehow.”
As The Guardian once wrote it is: “The pick of Manchester culture and hub of blogging goodness”

We will be hunting around for blogs or websites to feature here on Saturday’s e-view page in the M.E.N or add to the blogroll so, if you’ve got one to nominate, submit a link to the blog below. The only criteria is that they have some connection with Manchester.
